Pro Chem’s PRO EARTH line of products is environmentally friendly and safe for people to work with. To meet the demands of today’s market, our line of PRO EARTH products work as well or better than traditional products.
Pro Chem’s PRO EARTH line must meet the following stringent criteria:
- Biodegradable
- VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) Compliant
- No Phenol Ethoxylated surfactants (which are suspected of weakening our immune systems)
- No carcinogens or any SARA 313 reportable ingredients
- No butyl, chlorinated, or harsh solvents
- Does not contain 3’s or 4’s on HMIS ratings
- No ammonia or chlorine bleach
- No phosphates or silicates (which contribute to aquatic pollution, algae bloom, oxygen depletion in lakes and streams)
- No PVC (phthalates) or APE (Alkylphenol Ethoxylates)
- Recyclable packaging
Pro Chem has also partnered with two third-party agencies - Green Seal & the EPA’s DfE (Design for the Environment) program, to get Green Certification for many products. Products that have been certified by these two very prestigious programs are also included in the Pro Earth line.
DESIGN FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
The Environmental Protection Agency’s program to certify safer chemical products- Managed by the OPPT (Office of Pollution Prevention & Toxics)
- Focuses on raw material suppliers and formulators
- Covers the most chemical categories
- Reviews Ingredient Toxicology, including Respiratory & Dermal
- Sensitivity, Chronic Health Effects, Bioaccumulation, etc.
- Works toward "Continuous Improvement" of standards
- Product formulas submitted and reviewed by NSF International, an independent third-party non-profit health entity
GREEN SEAL
Third-party certifier of "Green" Products- Stiff annual fees charged to manufacturer to maintain certifications
- Covers select categories such as Maintenance Cleaners, Household Cleaners, Powdered Bleach Floor Care Products etc.
- Reviews Ingredient Toxicology for Oral & Acute Exposure
- Reviews packaging and label requirements
- Authority to audit the manufacturing facility where product is certified to ensure compliance with Green Seal Standards
